Our use of model names is something that has never been very well explained and as a result, it has long been a source of confusion.   Hopefully I can finally bring some clarity to this.

There are three basic model names: the Swan; the Gosling; and the Loon.  The only thing these names refer to is the scale length.

There are also multiple body shapes (the original double cut, the Single 15; and the soon released to be T-Contour.  There are also two string spacings: standard and advanced or finger style.

A SWAN has a 27" scale length.  It was the original guitar the we produced and  every guitar the we built for the first several years had the Swan scale length.

Over the years it has been available with both the original double cut body and in more recent years the larger Single 15" body.  It has built as both a semi-hollow (original only) and a full hollow with a block under the bridge (original and Single 15").

The Swan is been available in both standard spacing (1 11/16") and advanced or finger-style spacing (1 13/16").  It is only offered with a bolt-on neck construction.

A GOSLING has a 25.5" scale length.  It was first introduced in 2009.

Like the Swan, it has been available with both the original double cut body and in more recent years the larger Single 15" body.  It has built as both a semi-hollow (original only) and a full hollow with a block under the bridge (original and Single 15").   By August 2012, it will also be available with the new T-Contour body shape.

The Gosling is available in both standard spacing (1 11/16") and advanced or finger-style spacing (1 13/16").  It is only offered with a bolt-on neck construction.

A LOON has a 24.75" scale length.  It was first introduced in 2011.

Unlike the Swan and the Gosling, to date it has only been available with the Single 15" body and with a set neck construction.  My hope is that by the end of 2012 or early 2013 it will be available with the new T-Contour and original body shapes, both will be available in bolt-on neck construction only.  To date, the Single 15" version of the Loon has been available with a set neck construction only.  I plan to introduce a bolt-on version of the Loon with a Single 15" body at some point in 2013.

The Loon is available in both standard spacing (1 11/16") and advanced or finger-style spacing (1 13/16").
